AAA screening
Measures the abdominal aorta, the body’s largest artery, to check for an aneurysm — a weakened, widened section that usually causes no symptoms until it is large.
DVT — arms or legs
Checks the deep veins of the legs or arms for a blood clot. Because a clot can need prompt treatment, we perform DVT studies only with a referral — book online and we’ll confirm it before your visit.

Vascular ultrasound questions
Do I need to prepare?
Carotid, CIMT and DVT studies need no preparation. For an AAA screening, avoid food and drink for at least 8 hours beforehand so gas in the bowel doesn’t block the view.
Is the exam painful?
No. It is completely non-invasive. A warm gel is applied and the probe glides over the skin while the machine measures blood flow.
What is a Doppler ultrasound?
Doppler is an ultrasound technique that measures the speed and direction of blood flow. It shows narrowing, blockages and clots without needles, dye or radiation.
How long does it take?
Most vascular studies take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the study and how many areas are examined.
Do I need a referral?
Not for carotid, CIMT or AAA studies — you can book those directly. DVT studies need a referral; — book online and we’ll confirm it before your visit.
When will I get my results?
A board-certified radiologist reads your images and the written report is delivered within 24 hours — to you, and to your physician if you like.
Does insurance cover it?
We are flat-rate cash pay with no facility fees. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and we can give you a superbill to submit to your insurance yourself.
