What we scan

Every study, at your door

Every study is performed on location and interpreted by a board-certified radiologist within 24 hours.

DVT studies and the second-trimester anatomy scan require a physician’s order and are scheduled by phone. See the full scan and pricing list.

Concierge Home Visits

We arrive at your home, office or hotel anywhere in Del Mar on a scheduled appointment day, with no waiting room and no parking garage.

Private by Design

One patient, one sonographer, one unhurried appointment, in your own space and on your schedule.

No Referral Needed

Most studies — abdominal, thyroid, breast, vascular, men’s and women’s health — can be booked without a physician order. Only DVT studies and the second-trimester anatomy scan require one.

The Del Mar angle

Two thirds of this town is over 45. The screening should match.

Del Mar has the oldest and wealthiest age profile of any coastal community in the county — roughly two in three residents are 45 or older, and close to a third are over 65. That is precisely the population for whom arterial screening stops being optional and starts being the thing that changes outcomes.

Carotid intima-media thickness measures arterial wall thickening before it becomes a blockage. Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening is one measurement, once, that finds a condition which is silent until it ruptures. Both are ultrasound. Both take minutes. Neither requires radiation, contrast, or an enclosed scanner.

The premium imaging most people in this zip code have heard of does not do either one. We do, at your kitchen table, for a published price.

What a visit looks like

Good to know

Del Mar questions, answered

Do I need a referral?
For most studies, no. Carotid, abdominal, aortic, thyroid, renal, pelvic, breast, scrotal and soft-tissue ultrasound can be booked directly. Two exceptions require a physician’s order: DVT studies and the second-trimester anatomy scan.
Do you come to homes in Olde Del Mar and the Beach Colony?
Yes — anywhere in 92014, including the village, the Beach Colony, Del Mar Terrace, Crest Canyon and up along Del Mar Heights. The system is fully portable. We need a room with space to lie down and about 45 minutes.
Can you scan me without anyone knowing I had it done?
Yes. There is no waiting room, no front desk, no sign-in sheet and no shared parking lot. The sonographer arrives, performs the study, and leaves. Your report goes to you, and only to whichever physician you choose to share it with.
How does this compare to a whole-body MRI?
They answer different questions. A whole-body MRI is an anatomical survey and is generally not designed to assess arterial plaque, measure arterial wall thickness, or size the aorta and peripheral vessels. Those are ultrasound studies. Ours start at $425, use no radiation and no contrast, and can be repeated annually.
Do you perform echocardiograms?
No. We do vascular ultrasound — carotid arteries, abdominal aorta, renal and peripheral vessels — not cardiac echo. If you need your heart chambers and valves assessed, that is a cardiologist’s study. What we measure is the arterial side: wall thickness, plaque, flow and aortic diameter.
What about during the racing season?
We schedule Del Mar appointment days deliberately around the meets. When Via de la Valle is at its worst, the advantage of a sonographer coming to your door instead of you driving to an imaging suite on that road is the entire point.
What does it cost?
Studies run $375–$525 with pricing published before you book. Bundles are $625 for Cardiovascular Screening (carotid duplex with CIMT plus abdominal aortic aneurysm screening), $895 for Women’s Wellness and $1,295 for Complete Longevity. Cash-pay; we do not bill insurance.
